PSP Showcases Innovative Ideas at “PSP x AI Hackathon 2026

P.S.P. Specialties Public Company Limited (PSP), a leading provider of integrated lubricant solutions, hosted the project presentation and judging event for “PSP x AI Hackathon 2026: NAVIGATING THE AI FRONTIER – RESHAPE, INNOVATE, AND THRIVE.” The initiative challenged employees to transform real-world workplace pain points into innovative solutions, bringing together teams from across the PSP Group to develop AI-powered applications. The proposed solutions ranged from improving operational efficiency and data analytics to developing AI Agents as intelligent work assistants. Each team was required to demonstrate the business value of its solution before a panel of PSP executives, who served as judges. Google Cloud also joined the initiative as a supporting partner, providing guidance and expertise. The project reflects PSP’s commitment to driving Digital Transformation by fostering an AI Culture that starts with its people.

Mr. Sakesan Krongphanich, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of P.S.P. Specialties Public Company Limited (PSP), said that the Company had organized the presentation and judging event for PSP x AI Hackathon 2026, with more than 16 employee teams participating in the competition.

“AI is transforming the way businesses operate across every industry. However, investment in AI does not always translate into measurable business results. According to MIT NANDA’s The GenAI Divide: State of AI in Business 2025, published in July 2025, approximately 95% of organizations have yet to achieve significant measurable business benefits from their investments in Generative AI.

“From day one, our key challenge has been determining how PSP can become one of the 5% of organizations that successfully turn AI into tangible results. For us, the clearest measure of AI success is business impact, whether through cost reduction or improved operational efficiency. We also believe that successful AI adoption depends on more than technology alone. According to BCG’s 70-20-10 rule, organizations that successfully implement AI place 70% of their focus on people and processes, 20% on technology and data, and just 10% on algorithms. That is why PSP has chosen to start with people, empowering employees who understand their day-to-day operations best to design and develop AI applications themselves,” Mr. Seksan said.

Mr. Sakesan further added that PSP x AI Hackathon 2026 aims to deliver both practical solutions that can be implemented and scaled across the organization, and a workforce equipped to continuously leverage AI to improve their respective areas of responsibility. These capabilities will help strengthen PSP’s long-term competitiveness.

AI adoption represents another significant step in strengthening PSP’s technological capabilities. The Company is integrating AI into its business processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and operational agility. This builds upon PSP’s ongoing Digital Transformation journey, which has shifted traditional paper-based workflows to structured digital platforms that connect data across departments through a unified infrastructure.

At the core of this transformation is the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which serves as a key foundation for transitioning conventional workflows to real-time digital operations across the organization. This transformation enables PSP to systematically collect, access, and manage data more effectively while establishing a reliable data foundation for developing AI solutions that support analytics, decision-making, and future business opportunities.

Mr.Tanawat U-snit, Digital Technology Director at P.S.P. Specialties Public Company Limited and project lead, said:

“PSP x AI Hackathon 2026 was initiated with the goal of using AI to address real challenges that employees encounter in their daily work. These include production processes, quality inspections, performance monitoring, work scheduling across different functions, and human resource management.

“We designed this initiative to empower employees, who understand their operational processes best, to review existing workflows and develop practical Use Cases that address specific business needs. The objective is to improve data collection and analytics, simplify complex procedures, save working time, and enhance problem-solving capabilities through AI.”

The atmosphere at PSP x AI Hackathon 2026 was filled with creativity and the exchange of ideas, as more than 16 employee teams presented AI-powered solutions to address real workplace challenges. PSP executives attended the presentations and evaluated the proposed solutions, while Google Cloud provided support and guidance to help turn innovative ideas into practical applications. The initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency while embedding AI capabilities across all functions of the organization.

The project was implemented in four phases:

Phase 1: Preparation and Readiness

The Company communicated the importance of AI to business operations across the organization and selected participants through collaboration between the Human Resources Department and department heads. Each team consisted of 2–4 members. The phase concluded with a project kick-off session to ensure a clear understanding of the objectives, rules, timeline, tools, and mentors available throughout the program.

Phase 2: Idea Development

All participants received in-depth training on AI fundamentals, relevant tools, and organizational use cases. Each team then developed its ideas through a multi-stage screening process, evaluating feasibility and potential business value. Teams were also required to submit implementation plans outlining the problems to be addressed, expected impacts, and AI-driven processes for each Use Case.

Phase 3: Evaluation and Selection

Teams presented their solutions to the judging panel, followed by the announcement of the winning teams. Key lessons learned were also consolidated to support the Company's ongoing development and adoption of AI.

Phase 4: Implementation

Outstanding solutions will enter an incubation process to further develop and prepare them for practical implementation across the organization.

The judging criteria placed the greatest emphasis on business impact, accounting for 50% of the total score, alongside development feasibility, scalability across the organization, and solution creativity. The judging panel consisted of PSP executives. The competition results were as follows:

First Prize – The Ultimate Disruptor

Team A-Link, comprising members from Warehouse Operations and Supply Chain, won first prize for its AI Smart Loading Management solution. The project integrates AI with human operations to reduce errors in operational processes while providing real-time updates on operational status and key performance indicators (KPIs).

First Runner-up – Future-Ready Award

Team Penetro-Botics, from the Grease Production Department, received the award for its Grease Penetration Calculation solution. The application of AI helps reduce the time required to retrieve historical production data, minimize repeated adjustments to grease hardness, improve raw material addition accuracy, and reduce the risks of additional costs and production time losses caused by repeated production runs.

Second Runner-up – High-Potential Prototype

Team ACD Generative AI, from the Accounting Department, received the award for its AI AP Invoice Assistance solution. The application supports data analysis and decision-making while improving the efficiency of daily accounting and financial operations.

“The Use Cases selected today represent the first step toward developing a better understanding of how AI can be appropriately and effectively integrated into our organizational context. PSP remains open to additional Use Cases to further expand AI adoption across every dimension of organizational development, while encouraging new ideas beyond those presented at this event.

“Selected projects will undergo further incubation and development before being implemented in real business operations, with the aim of generating measurable business value. At the same time, this initiative lays the foundation for PSP to become a sustainable innovation-driven organization,” Mr. Sakesan concluded.
